The history, realities, needs and problems of Japan as a developing nation in an age of advanced technology, cultural pluralism and globalization provide the social context of education at OIS. Its content and pedagogy spring form the philosophy that each human person has his or her unique circumstances and possesses multiple capacities to help himself or herself and contribute to social transformation.
