MYP Language Acquisition Class
Today students warm-up at the beginning of Phase 2&3 Language Acquisition class with flashcards from Quizlet.com. The IB’s hours restriction, 50-70 hours for the school year, allows teachers and students to allocate time for practical exercises like drills. Quizlet is an excellent tool because it gives teachers the freedom to control the content on the flashcards, record their voices, and create tests for students.
Mr. Tang has created the flashcards for Japanese learners, using a vocabulary list from Eiken 2 and Pre-1 handbooks, for students who are considering taking the tests. OIS encourages students to pass Eiken Pre-1 to do well in the IB’s Diploma Programme. OIS also prepares students for international standardized language tests such as TOEFL Junior and IELTS.
